Movie musings
A love triangle where I did not end up hating any of the three lead charcaters is a real rarity and full marks to Pradeep Sarkar for some really strong characterisation. Double thumbs up for Parineeta. Mr and Mrs Smith, on the other hand, was very disappointing.

Marriage musings
One of the common pressure tactics employed by some of my friends who have been engulfed in the whirlpool of matrimony is the threat to exclude single mates from their social get togethers and weekend meetings. Little do they realise that as things stand, its only me who piles on for tiffin or movie outings. If I were to get married, then that would make two of us that they need to handle (read as: cook for, buy cinema tickets)

Mall Musings
I have never been able to understand why but I always seem to have this love-hate relationship with shopping malls. On one hand, I love going there and observing people and trying to understand retail patterns as well as consumer behavior (do not read as: lech and ogle) but on the other hand, I hate the crowds and the pretentious window shoppers and even more pretentious phoren brands. Anyway my most recent trip to Garuda Mall (I've been there thrice) would have to be the most interesting 1.5 hours I have spent for a long long time.

If one were to segment the various kinds of shoppers based on their buying trends, then I could still use my old article except that when it comes to malls like Garuda there is a seventh category, a new breed that is usually a tag team of a liberated yuppy and the accompanying bakra(s) of the day. My observations are based on the real experiences of one such tag team....Read on...

When all you need to buy are a couple of tees, a white formal shirt and a simple cotton kurta, how many shops and brands does one need to visit before making a choice ?
Answer
maximum 1 shop and 3 brands - one brand for each: the tee, the shirt and the kurta
minimum 4 shops and 14 brands and 3/4ths of an inch on my sneakers since the kurta fabric in shop A does not come with Shop Bs designs and Shop Cs colors and Shop Ds price.
Can we do the shopping after we have icecream at Baskin Robbins ?

Two minutes - you know what you want to buy nuh
As long as it takes to smell every soap, shampoo and deodorant which in this case was around 35 minutes
No. I don't want to go to Health and Glow. Lets go to Baskin Robbins.

Conclusions:
Men assume people go to malls for a purpose, realise a little too late that they've been conned, get distracted and irritable and can't wait till they get out.
Women go to malls for a TOTAL shopping experience.
Kids just wanna have fun wherever they go and make no mistake, fun means I-C-E-C-R-E-A-M.
