Chennai Diary - 2

Nothing is more distressnig that working out of your location - for starters you need other people's help in everything from logging into a machine, accessing net, opening doors and even finding out the way to the cafteria.. So i was very relieved when it was 4 pm on Friday since there was hardly much work and i so badlywanted to skip out and embrace Chennai..After making plans to meet BK and Partha later that evening i went home to 19b, freshened up and watched some telly.. Felt so good watching SCV in Chennai :-) Mansur seemed to have missed his flight so he skipped the meeting and i ended up chattin with Partha, Zee and BK. We bought tickets for the 7 pm show - THE VILLAGE - for the next day and generally gossipped the evening away.

Saturday was eventful since i woke up late, lazed at home and then went to Tusku's to pick up my luggage. AKAS picked me up and we bought tickets for my reurn journey before returning to 19B for a great session of catching up..It was amazing talking with Seetha, Funky and AKAS and reliving those golden days.. Lunch was at Komalas.. I almost forgot.. on the way there our bike ran out of fuel and we ended up pushing it for 2 kms in the scorching Chennai heat.. It was as if the city was welcoming me back to its fold..After a heavy lunch, went back home and dozed off..Woke up at around 4 and left to meet BK and Mansur.. We had coffee at Arya Bhavan and then went to Landmarks and Ispahani before checking out THE VILLAGE.. Good movie - not as good as Nights earlier ones - but definitely a cut above the rest of the stuff churned out by Hollywood. Returned back and had dinner at BB - Memories of 2000 came flooding back :-( How i miss Chennai.. Finally took the bus back home late Saturday night...Yet to get over the hangover from the trip.. B'lore is such a lousy place :-(

A detailed review on The Village and the music of Veer Zara will follow soon...Till then...ciao.
