Marked man...
The news is bad as usual..I've just realised that having very undertsanding parents is not everything.. There are lotsa things that one gets to choose in life but relatives are people Gods gives us.. People over whom we have absolutely no control..Thursday had been a great day since i'd come to know that Peelu was finally settling down.. All eager to break the news to Mom, imagine my shock when what awaited me at home was a JAADAGUM :-( Though i had told my folks that there would be no talk of marriage till Mar 2006 - till i turn 28 - and they had been in general agreement on that, what i had not bargained for was over eager relatives desperately trying to while away their post retirment time playing matchmaker for all eligible people.
A few weeks back, my chinna thatha and patti had visisted us and they had broached the topic o when i planned to tie the knot. After patiently explaining the rationale (was there any i am beginning to wonder??) to them for an hour, what do i find now ? They have sent my horoscope to some "nice folks" and got their daughters in exchange ? And now my folks have to respond. I firmly put my foot down and said no.. As i type this, my folks have gone to their place to convey my decision.. sheeeesh...Normally i would expect my folks to side with me but somehow this time it did not happen. Maybe it was because this gal seems to fit into all my specifications - shes 5'8", works and is supposedly well mannered :-p Now i am beginning to see that no matter what one can do in preparation, when it comes to the crunch, it all amounts to nothing.. Dunno how much longer i can survive all this but i know for sure i am a marked man now.. God save me... or rather... Priya, save me :-)
