Wot exactly is the problem with you ?
:-)))) Believe me, i have always prided myself on having a quick answer to any question.. Some of them have been real smart alec repartees, some of them donwright rude responses, some non committal vague statements but i have never ever run short of words...But for what i think is the first time in a loooong time, i think i was completely boxed into a corner..and that too by a woman... Jupe, u r growing old.. and the next generation is getting a little too smart fer ya...
Okie, Rashi has moved into town...To put things into perspective, she is the gal VS tried to set me up during the Chennai visit.. My first impression about her at that time was that of a brash, impulsive kid (shes just turned 20 - a few months after graduation)...someone who knew her mind and spoke it too..Our interests had been more or less simlar.. A fascination for Zakir Hussain, Kamal Hassan and the ability to watch golf in TV had actually made us comfortable in each others company but then our first meeting had barely been for a few hours.. we had exchanged phone nos: but since coming back i had tactfully not called... Now she's moved to Bangalore on an assignment for 3 months.. she works for a small ad agency btw...N wot does she do within hours of landing up here.. she called me last Saturday morning..
Expecting to be given a verbal lashing on etiquette, i was about to cook up stories when she caught me off guard by not even mentioning abt my not calling back.. Instead she confronted me by asking whether i was running away from something.. In no mood to confess to a total stranger i brushed aside her question and we agreed to meet later that evening..We met at Crosswords where we shopped for a few books while i filled her in on the happening places in this city.. Then over coffee she broke the news that i had already been given by VS.. how she's just taken time off from her relationship with her BF whos in Mumbai.. and how she does not believe that their relationship will not last.. I was in listen mode throughout and am i thankful for it .. since there was so much i came to know about her that day.. this woman is extremely mature for her age and is totally non-chalant about committment.. Good for me was my initial reaction.. but when i look back now, i am amazed at the practicality of her attitude..There is so much i could learn from her...When quizzed on why she was telling me all this, she just simplistically answered saying that somehow she found me trustworthy.. neway she also claimed to be an open book (to be read as: she tells everyone her story ???)
Ever since Saturday VS has been pestering me about what i think of her..To be honest i am clueless.. She sure is interesting but i am NOT looking at anything serious in the near future..I think i have invested enough for this year in what jes sunk :-)) But what definitely makes it worthwhile to give this one a shot is that she is a really smart woman.. she has easily discovered my strengths, besides the fact that she very much believes in personal space... She also comes across as someone who can laugh at herself and that is a quality that i have foudn lacking in a lot of women..We r due to meet again this weekend.. and that should prove to be interesting..
Now coming to the title of this post.. She jes called me sometime back and asked me for plans for this weekend.. i casually mentioned that none of them included a 20 year kid..and that was when she said those words..... :-)))) Now wots my problem with age ?
